How To Recycle Microwave Ovens

There are several ways you can recycle your old microwave. Repairing may be an option. Contact a local small appliance repair shop and get a quote. If you aren't interested in fixing it and want to recycle it, there are several options. If you are handy with tools you can take apart the microwave and separate the materials and recycle them accordingly. You can also contact your local recycling center to ask if they accept them. If they don't, they should be able to point you in the direction of someone locally who does.

If you have a working microwave that you are trying to dispose of you can donate it to thrift stores like Goodwill or the Salvation Army, churches, charities, or local shelters. Craig's List is a great place to list it if you are interested in trying to get some money for it.
